I had blissful day off today. :) Played some WoW but that wasn't the best part. Sitting out on my patio with a glass of sweet tea and "Prisoner of Azkaban" for several sunshine soaking hours was the best part.  I love to be able to just sit out in the sun soaking up the light of that golden orb.  Puts me in a great mood. Maybe it's all the Vitamin D. :D  I sat in my patio chair feet up on the other, dogs at my side and book in my hands. *sigh* Wondermous indeed. Tomorrow should be another great day to be outside and I get to go horseback riding with one of the doctors I work with.  Love, love, love.  I get all giddy just thinking about it. :D  I guess that's all to report really.  Sunshine makes me happy, yep, that's pretty much it. :)

Being the James Bond fan that I am, one of my friends gave me "Casino Royale" for my birthday. I am ashamed to admit that I never did get around to catching it on the big screen, but I knew that it was going to be good from the glowing review my sister gave it.(She being a bigger fan than myself.) I did not know how absolutely flippin' fabulously fantastic it was until tonight when I just got done watching it! I am seriously in love with Daniel Craig! I want to marry him and have his babies! :) Okay, so maybe not quite that much but it comes pretty close. His portrayal of Bond in this movie is so right on. It's supposed to be about Bond right after he achieves 00 status. Daniel Craig is perfect. He's all raw and gritty and lacks a certain finesse seen in earlier films. It's not exactly a prequel but it does sorta jump back in time without jumping back in time.(Watch it you'll understand.) I've always thought hands down Sean Connery was the best Bond ever. Suave, handsome, sophisticated, clever, unreadable, just how an experienced agent should be. Craig, perfectly portrays Bond before that experience. It just. . . leaves me speechless. As I draw my ramblings to a close, let me say, just check it out, regardless of whether or not you're a Bond fan, it's a really good movie. Action packed without relying too heavily on special effects. Great chase scenes, both foot and vehicle. Suspense, twists, turns. . . .yeah, yeah I'll shut up now. :)

Okay, so back in December my roomie and cousin got tickets for my aunt(her mother) to go to a Chris Botti concert for her birthday. Her birthday is the last day in December but the concert wasn't until tonight. Well, my aunt, uncle, their oldest daughter Leah, and Leah's son Reese came this weekend to visit and then go to the concert tonight. But as the ever fickle Lady Luck would have it, Aunt Cynthia got sick yesterday, most likely the strep throat that Reese had developed earlier in the week. Since she felt like so much refuse, and Uncle Michael was only going so he could go with her, it ended up being Leah, Laura and myself at the Chris Botti concert this evening. Now, I had never heard any of his music before and I'm not a huge jazz fan. I like it, but more stuff with vocals, I am however, a huge music fan. When I say fan by the way, I mean it's the air that my soul breathes. Words can not begin to describe how great this concert was tonight. The band, in a word, rocked. Drummer was of the highest caliber, he just smoked. The guitarist, there were times his hands were nothing but a blur running over the strings. The pianist, incredible. Then you have Chris Botti himself, I have never in all my years heard a trumpet played like that, not in real life anyway. Sure in recordings and such, but nothing compares to sitting there and hearing such masterfully, beautifully played music just wash over your soul. I couldn't help but just sit with closed eyes, as he played classic jazz pieces. Still, makes me grow still to remember it. True musicians are so few and far between these days that when you come upon one, it can blow you away, and it's so much better to hear it live. Even with the quality of recordings these days, nothing compares to live music. And I feel I'm beginning to ramble so I'll shut myself down and go to bed now. :)

Heh :) I love my friends. :) I just got back from my surprise birthday party. Great it was, totally great. Just what I had wanted and totally unexpected. I've always wanted someone to throw a surprise party like that for me, I just can't say enough how great it was. Thanks to all the people on my friends list that made it happen. I love you all! :) And no, that's not just cause of the Sex on the Beach. :)

Let's see tomorrow is D&D, always look forward to D&D, total geek that I am. Just about a week and a half till I go on vacation, and I think that pretty much sums up things for now. :)

Okay, so I knew I liked the group Little Big Town but today I realized just how much. I got their album just yesterday and it's awesome. wonderfully melded harmonies showcased on top of great lyrics and an older feeling instrumental sound. Just love it. Some selections that stick out are "Bones", and "Stay". "Stay" being the one I've really been looping today, it's just . . good. I usually fall in love with anything featuring wonderful harmony, but four part harmony is the best, just makes me wish I was part of the group. Gives me chills and hypes me up. *shiver* Hmmmm, maybe I should go back to my first aspirations of what I termed as a youngster as a "singer cowgirl". :) *thinks* Nope, probably wouldn't work, considering I can't play an instrument and my voice is only a little over decent. :)

In other news, my 29th birthday is just eight days away. I'm almost over 29, next year I've decided will be the first anniversary of my 29th birthday. :) I want to actually do something for my birthday this year cause I never do, but I haven't the foggiest notion as to what I want to do. Probably end up being me and a couple friends going for dinner. Oh well, at least that's something. Let's see what else, quit WoW for awhile, it just wasn't much fun anymore. I'm sure the addiction will creep back up in a couple months and I'll cave and play again. Maybe not though. . . Whoopee! only about three weeks till I go to Miami! Woohoo! Yippee! and all that! Especially if it's gonna continue to be kinda cold up here in Memphis til I go, cause surely it'll be warmer down there.

I just spent the greatest geekiest hour and a half I've had in a long time. :) Two girl friends and I just got back from watching TMNT. It was flippin' sweet! Late showing, only three people in the theater, wonderful nostalgic movie, awesome. :) Plus, it just reaffirmed the fact that I am one of the geekiest (almost) 29 year old women on the planet, and I love every minute of it. I revel in my geek factor and never want to give it up. NOTHING, beats how much fun stuff like tonight was. Let's not sell the movie short either, it was great. I'd recommend it to anyone who can sing at least part of the theme song from memory, from childhood. *raises hand as one who can* :) "..Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Heroes in a half shell, Turtle Power!"

OMG! I got to talk to my friend Mitch on MSN today! I haven't talked to him in like two years, I had forgotten how much I love him. :) He is probably the best guy friend I've ever had, he's always had the ability to make me laugh just when I need it. I've missed him. We exchanged numbers so hopefully I'll be able to talk to him more. OH! I don't think I ever updated with news of my vacation. I get to go to Miami! Yippee! I leave on the third of May and I can't wait. I don't even care about doing much while I'm there except visit with Ashley and maybe hit the beach a couple of times. I just need the time to recharge away from crap that bugs me. Hopefully I'll come back and be good to really settle down and look for a new job and be myself again. Gotta love vacation time. :)

Well, I actually did it. I finally got my resume together. Ugh. It's terrible having to rebuild one of those things from scratch. Not that I have a whole heck of alot to put on it. I graduated college and went right into the job I currently hold. *shrug* Oh well, gotta start somewhere I suppose. I actually feel a little better for having done it. Now, if I can just hear some positive feedback from where I sent it...*crosses fingers*

I really hate carrying on so about how I don't like my job anymore, but if I don't it shows at work and that's never a good thing. I just don't have it in me to do that job anymore. It requires a level of dedication and resolve that I just don't have anymore. It's too much work for very little return. Not just in the financial department, the veterinary field is never one you enter to make money. It gets old doing things for clients who don't appreciate it, patients that try to eat your face more often than not and co-workers who always think what they have to do is more important/harder than whatever you are doing. *sigh* It just gets old and to be this burned out at this point in my life just shows me that it's time to move on. Now, or I know myself, it's now or never really.

In other news, I really want to go back to Miami in like May. :) *crosses fingers on the other hand* Hopefully I'll get too. :)

Love, love, love this song. It's awesome what with the smokin' guitar and all. *sigh* It's just great.

"Stupid Boy" by Keith Urban

Well, she was precious like a flower
She grew wild, wild but innocent
A perfect prayer in a desperate hour
She was everything beautiful and different

Stupid boy, you can't fence that in
Stupid boy, it's like holding back the wind
She let her heart and soul right in your hands
And you stole her every dream and you crushed her plans
She never even knew she had a choice and that's what happens
When the only voice she hears is telling her she can't
Stupid boy, stupid boy
Oh

So what made you think you could take a life
And just push it push it around
I guess you build yourself up so high
You had to take her and break her down

She let her heart and soul right in your hands
And you stole her every dream and you crushed her plans
She never even knew she had a choice and that's what happens
When the only voice she hears is telling her she can't
You stupid boy

Oh, you always had to be right but now you've lost
The only thing that ever made you feel alive
Yeah, yeah

Well, she let her heart and soul right in your hands
And you stole her every dream and you crushed her plans
Yes, ya did
She never even knew she had a choice and that's what happens
When the only voice she hears is telling her she can't
You stupid boy, oh, I'm the same old
Same old stupid boy

It took awhile for her to figure out she could run
But when she did, she was long gone
Long gone, long gone
Ah, she's gone

Alright, so I have my sister to thank for my latest music obsession. Several months ago she asked me to find her anything by a group called "Celtic Woman" well I never got around to it but the other day at Target I found their CD and thought, "Hey, I'll get this for Em since she's coming in a couple of weeks and I never got her a Christmas gift." When I told her I got it for her she was. . . overjoyed is putting it mildly. :) Anyway, I mentioned to her that I might go ahead and open it and upload it to our computer so I could have it on my iPod, she says to me,"Do it!" Heh, so I did. *sigh* I'm now in love with them. They are soooo good. Words can not begin to describe just how good they are. I picked a favorite song in the first listening of the album and "power learned" the words in a few hours. Yes, now I sing it when no one is around, I won't torture people with having to listen to me attempt to sing along. :) But I love this song like none I've heard in a very long time and the reasons are my own and hard to explain.

"Send Me A Song" - Lisa Kelly (Celtic Woman)

Take the wave now and know that you're free
Turn your back on the land, face the sea
Face the wind now, so wild and so strong
When you think of me, wave to me and send me a song
Don't look back when you reach the new shore
Don't forget what you're leaving me for
Don't forget when you're missing me so
Love must never hold, never hold tight but let go

Oh, the nights will be long when I'm not in your arms
But I'll be in this song, that you sing to me
Across the sea, somehow, someday
You will be far away, so far from me
And maybe one day, I will follow you in all you do
Till then, send me a song

When the sun sets the water on fire
When the wind swells the of your hire
Let the call of the bird on the wing
Calm you sadness and loneliness and then
Start to sing to me, I will sing to you
If you promise to send me a song

I walk by the shore and I hear
Hear your song come so faint and so clear
And I catch it a breath on the wind
And I smile and I sing you a song, I will send you a song
I will sing you a song, I will sing to you
If you promise to send me a song

So, Yay!, we got the computer back and it's all better. :) Yeah in case anyone was wondering or didn't know, our computer kinda went a little belly up about 3 weeks ago. Through a long and much drawn out, totally unnecessary series of events it's finally working properly again. I still need to reload iTunes (must never give up the quest for music, music, and more music), and MSN messenger but of course WoW was back on in a matter of hours. :) (I am such the r-tard.) Now, to really work on leveling my WoW character to 70 since the computer crashed right before the expansion came out. :)

In other news, yeah, there ain't any really. My sister and nephew are coming to visit in a few weeks that'll be fun. I can't believe my nephew is turning 2 years old in 2 days. He's getting soo big and I don't get to see nearly as much as this doting aunt would wish. He'll probably be talking some when I get to see him this time, hehe, awesome. :) Of course, me not getting to see him is not nearly the same as his daddy being out of the country and not getting to see him, but still.

Work, has been well, work in a nutshell. Had one of those didn't leave until 8 p.m. nights again last night. *shakes head* Emergency surgery at 7:00 at night never quite loses it's un-appeal. :( Plus, to top it off the dog isn't doing as well as expected either, makes the whole thing seem fruitless. I hate losing a patient after something like that, and she's such a sweet little dog, too. I'm determined to believe she'll pull through.

I hate when there are things/thoughts bumping around inside my head and I can't find a way to get them out. Just as I grasp a thought it slips away and is replaced by another. This could mean one of two things, i'm entirely too stressed out or i'm entirely too tired. Probably the second. :)

I'm not looking forward to turning 29 but it's not yet 30, so anyway. I've decided not to make any plans for 2007, that way God won't laugh in my face when His plans don't match mine. Heh, since I've not had a song stick in my head enough to post recently I now have two. :) Both from the same artist and album. I think it's the new iPod, new discoveries are around many corners. :) I think I've said before how much I love Alison Krauss and Union Station but these two new discoveries just cement that opinion.

The first is "Gravity", second is "A Living Prayer", both from the album Lonely Runs Both Ways. "Gravity" appeals on both the lyrical and instrumental aspects, the lyrics of "A Living Prayer" hit me in my soul. Plus, the pure quality of her voice on this selection gives me chills. So, I'll only post the lyrics for "A Living Prayer" but I highly recommend checking out "Gravity" if you are at all interested. :)

"A Living Prayer" by Alison Krauss and Union Station

In this world I walk alone
With no place to call my home
But there's one who holds my hand
The rugged road through barren lands
The way is dark the road is steep
But He's become my eyes to see
The strength to climb, my griefs to bear
The Savior lives inside me there

In You're love I find release
A haven from my unbelief
Take my life and let me be
A living prayer my God to Thee

In these trials of life I find
Another voice inside my mind
He comforts me and bids me live
Inside the love the Father gives

In You're love I find release
A haven from my unbelief
Take my life and let me be
A living Prayer my God to Thee

Take my life and let me be
A living Prayer my God to Thee

This song is by my all time favorite band, Rascal Flatts. It't their newest single and is just another great song by them. The main reason they are my favorite is because something about nearly every one of their songs speaks to me.

"My Wish" by Rascal Flatts

I hope that the days come easy and the moments pass slow,
And each road leads you where you want to go,
And if you're faced with a choice, and you have to choose,
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you.
And if one door opens to another door closed,
I hope you keep on walkin' till you find the window,
If it's cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile,

But more than anything, more than anything,
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.

I hope you never look back, but ya never forget,
All the ones who love you, and the place you left,
I hope you always forgive, and you never regret,
And you help somebody every chance you get,
Oh, you find God's grace, in every mistake,
And always give more than you take.

But more than anything, yeah, and more than anything,
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.

So my Thanksgiving was . . . . indescribable(?). Boring and very un-holiday like. *sigh* Oh, well. Surely Christmas will be better. I went to Lowe's with my mother on Friday. (Yeah biggest shopping day of the year and we go to Lowe's.) Let me just say that only in Union City, TN would the Lowe's be a central shopping area. My mother had to return some things first. This will give you an idea of the kind of country that I'm from, half of the people in the store were wearing camo and the other half some sort of Dixie paraphernalia. It is amusing sometimes to watch the people when I go back home. I didn't realize how far I've removed myself from that kind of thing. Believe it or not this weekend for the first time ever I made the distinction between country and redneck. *I* am country, the vast majority of people from back home are redneck. That is most definitely not me. Not that redneck is necessarily a bad thing, but I'll stick with being country. ;)

*sigh* I'm restless and extremely bored this afternoon. I don't want to do anything. I don't feel like reading, or solving Sudoku puzzles or even really playing WoW, I don't wanna nap, I certainly am not in the mood to pick up my house. grrrrrrr! I hate being bored.

I love this song. It is so . . . .sweet comes to mind but that isn't good enough. Every girl wants a guy to feel this way about her. :)

"She's Everything" by Brad Paisley

She's a yellow pair of running shoes
A holey pair of jeans
She looks great in cheap sunglasses
She looks great in anything
She's, I want a piece of chocolate
Take me to a movie
She's, I can't find a thing to wear
Now and then she's moody

She's a Saturn with a sunroof
With her brown hair a-blowing
She's a soft place to land
And a good feeling knowing
She's a warm conversation
That I wouldn't miss for nothing
She's a fighter when she's mad
And she's a lover when she's loving

[Chorus]
And she's everything I ever wanted
And everything I need
I talk about her, I go on and on and on
'Cause she's everything to me

She's a Saturday out on the town
And a church girl on Sunday
She's a cross around her neck
And a cuss word 'cause its Monday
She's a bubble bath and candles
Baby come and kiss me
She's a one glass of wine
And she's feeling kinda tipsy

She's the giver I wish I could be
And the stealer of the covers
She's a picture in my wallet
Of my unborn children's mother
She's the hand that I'm holding
When I'm on my knees and praying
She's the answer to my prayer
And she's the song that I'm playing

[Repeat chorus]

She's the voice I love to hear
Someday when I'm ninety
She's that wooden rocking chair
I want rocking right beside me
Everyday that passes
I only love her more
Yeah, she's the one
That I'd lay down my own life for

And she's everything I ever wanted
And everything I need
She's everything to me
Yeah she's everything to me

Everything I ever wanted
And everything I need
She's everything to me

As a side note, there is a great electric guitar part in the background. :)

There is something oddly depressing in loving the sound of thunder and rain but having to listen to it by yourself. Hmmmm, rain, it does things to my brain. Fall must equal baking somehow in my mind. I made banana bread and spiced nut muffins yesterday and I have more bananas to make more bread tomorrow. Yet, I still don't think that will stop the urge to bake that I seem to have. I feel the intense need to foist food on people. That could be a bad thing I guess, except that I'm a pretty good cook. :) I'll have to think of something other than banana bread to make too, it's not quite making the baking need go away.

I can't believe next week will be Thanksgiving. This year has gone by so incredibly fast, it's unreal. Oh, but hooray for after Thanksgiving cause then it's the start of the Christmas season, my favoritest holiday. I wonder if I could possibly find people to go caroling with this year? Hmm, probably not. I love caroling though. It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside. :)

Woot! I have this weekend off! Three whole days of .... .. yeah, probably nothing. :) I'm actually looking forward to a little bit of nothing though. Maybe I'll do some house cleaning, a little more baking. . . .yeah I'll probably end up playing WoW too much since I've reactivated my account recently. *shakes head* That game is like crack. :)

I had the best time in Chicago. It was interesting in the first place to be the youngest person on the trip and one of only two people under 50. :) It was like traveling with a bunch of grandparents. They were cool peeps though. We did alot of sightseeing and went to a dinner theater thing that was really cool. It was set up to be a 1920's speakeasy and all of the wait staff were actors and actresses, it was hilarious. Of course the highlight of the trip for me was going to see "Wicked". It has firmly earned top place in my list of favorite musicals. I wanted to bounce up and down in my seat as the opening notes of the music started. My face was hurting from the humongous grin on my face and I mouthed every word to every song. Even now when I listen to the soundtrack I get that same feeling of excitement in my stomach when it starts. I can't even fully explain why I love it so much, but that's kinda normal for me. Things I really love are hard for me to express exactly why and how much I love them. The whole musical just leaves me speechless. That's quite an accomplishment some would say. :) Hmm, I guess that's enough of my rambling for now.
